The Miraculous Health Benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid

Today, we’d like to tell you about a miracle anti-oxidant called Alpha Lipoic Acid.  If you experience pain, tingling, burning of the feet due to Diabetes or Neuropathy, you NEED to read this information and take it serious.  Besides helping with rebuilding nerve endings, Alpha Lipoic Acid also helps to promote liver regeneration, boost the body’s immune system and acts to recycle anti-oxidants over and over again protecting the body’s cells from free radical damage and ageing pre-maturely.  Please do yourself a favor and read on….

Alpha Lipoic Acid: Miracle Nutrient

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a vitamin-like substance produced in small amounts by the body, yet it is has many benefits to nearly all cells in the body. Alpha-lipoic acid is found in just a few food sources – brewer’s yeast, meats (especially liver) and spinach, and thus must be taken in supplement form to receive beneficial effects. Read on to find out how much you need each day and how it can help keep you healthy.

Within the past 50 years, researchers have been discovering the amazing properties of alpha-lipoic acid, and how alpha lipoic acid benefits a number of ailments.

Alpha-lipoic acid assists the body’s energy production and acts as a powerful antioxidant, helping to treat diabetic neuropathy (nerve-damage caused by the disease), protecting the liver, preventing cataracts, boosting immune function, and possibly helping to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

How Does Alpha-Lipoic Acid Work?

By assisting enzymes and B-vitamins, alpha-lipoic acid speeds the translation of the foods we eat into a usable energy source for the body. This food becomes the energy we use to breathe, talk, walk and live.

Carbohydrates, protein and fat are all broken down and formed into ATP, the universal energy source used by the body. Without alpha-lipoic acid, energy-production would cease.

Alpha-lipoic acid is also known for being an extremely powerful antioxidant supplement with special molecular capabilities. The structure of the alpha-lipoic acid molecule differs from all other antioxidants, allowing it to penetrate and protect tissues that otherwise cannot benefit from antioxidants, such as the brain, liver and nerves.

Alpha-lipoic acid also does one other thing that no other antioxidant has done – it actually has the ability to recycle other antioxidants over and over again.

When an antioxidant stops free radical damage, it does so by lending the free radical (an unstable molecule) an electron, thus making it stable. However, once it has done this, the antioxidant becomes useless. Alpha-lipoic acid can contribute electron after electron to free radicals and used up antioxidants without becoming useless itself. This process allows other antioxidant supplements, such as vitamins C and E, to be more potent by lasting longer.

Pain, tingling, burning in the feet from Neuropathy or Diabetes? Alpha-Lipoic Acid helps with that

With antioxidant capabilities such as these, alpha-lipoic acid is used to treat a number of ailments and boost immune function. Diabetics can benefit from alpha-lipoic acid use to treat nerve damage that is caused by long-term complications of the disease.

It is thought that alpha-lipoic acid can protect free radical damage caused by high blood glucose levels, thus counteracting nerve damage. Animal studies have also shown another effect of alpha-lipoic acid on nerves – it may increase blood flow to nerve areas, at the same time enhancing nerve impulse conduction.

A 2011 meta-analysis involving 1,160 patients with diabetic neuropathy demonstrated that Alpha Lipoic Acid, 600mg daily orally for five weeks, significantly improved pain, sensation, and other symptoms. Some patient’s neuropathy was so bad they were dropping things and feet dragged. After five weeks on oral Alpha Lipoic Acid, sensation and coordination improved so much researchers marveled that they never seen such dramatic turnarounds.

Another study of type-2 diabetics showed a positive response to insulin, after taking 600mg of alpha-lipoic acid a day, and therefore had lowered blood glucose levels.

Insulin is the hormone that removes glucose from the blood and into storage, which is a process that is interrupted in diabetes. However, it is important to note here that diabetics using alpha-lipoic acid may have to adjust their insulin or other related medications.

Miracle Nutrient for the Liver

As an antioxidant supplement, alpha-lipoic acid can also boost liver function, helping it to process toxins and also protecting it from free-radical damage. In fact, people who have ingested poison are often given alpha-lipoic acid to assist the liver in clearing the body of the toxins.

Alpha-lipoic acid’s antioxidant capabilities are also responsible for its positive effects on preventing cataracts, slowing Alzheimer’s, and creating a healthy immune system.  Alpha Lipoic Acid has also proved to help with hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis and elevated liver enzymes.

How Can I Make the Most Out of Alpha-Lipoic Acid?

Since alpha-lipoic acid is produced in rather small amounts by the body, and is available in only a few foods, many experts recommend supplementation to achieve the antioxidant benefits that alpha-lipoic acid can supply in larger doses.

There is no RDA for alpha-lipoic acid, as it is not an essential nutrient, but general recommendations range from 50-200mg taken up to three times per day to help achieve a healthy immune system. Alpha-lipoic acid is most often available as part of an antioxidant formula, along with vitamins C and E and other antioxidant nutrients.

We have found so much compelling evidence on the benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid we had to try it out. The high potency  600 mg capsules and the use of the pain relief cream with Alpha Lipoic Acid worked wonders just as the literature states.  Burning, tingling and pain from diabetes and nerve damage from neuropathy decreased ten fold in me!  We never promote any product unless we can have a personal testimonial on it first. We simply must share this miracle with all of you. If you suffer from any of the symptoms we have talked about here or if you simply want a powerful anti-oxidant boost like you’ve never experienced before you need to consider supplementing with Alpha Lipoic Acid.  You can find a good quality Alpha Lipoic Acid here.
